The Hull was manufactured in 1971 in Buena Park, CA. (Original Owner) I purchased the Boat new, and then built it up from there, to where it is today. It’s a 18 ft 10 inch Boat. I started out with a stock engine to get me going, but as the years went buy I wanted more and more horsepower, and have replaced the engine a few times to get the Super-Charged Engine I’ve always wanted. Now at the age I’m at, I’m not able to enjoy it like I used to. I treat this boat like it’s royalty or family, and have since I bought it.
So far, it’s up to a 427 Cu.In. Super-Charged Big Block Chevy bored out to 60 over, which gives you almost 440 Cu.In, with a BDS 871 Blower. Blower has two Modified Dual-Feed Four-Barrell Holly-Carbs, topped off with a Dooley Air-Scoop.
Polished Aluminum Direct-Drive 2-speed “Power Glide” Transmission, with Park, Reverse, Neutral, 2 Speeds Forward, and controlled by a B & M Cable Shifter. Direct Drive = more Horse Power to the Prop. The Transmission drives a water-cooled (Split-Case) Casale V-Drive with a 1.25 Gear Ratio. This Emken Boat is a one piece fiberglass boat, not a two piece boat with a trim piece, making the Hull a lot stronger and more durable.
Boat has brand new Custom made Back-to-Back Bucket Seats, so the Boat seats 4 people comfortably. Each side of the Boat has removable Gil Marine Water-Ski Racks, so they hold two Water-Ski’s on each side of the Boat, for a total of 4 Ski’s. They completely detach easily if you like.
Trailer: Tandem Trailer, which has all new Electrical, new Tires, and Polished Aluminum Wheels. The Axles have “Bearing Buddies”. The Tongue is Removable, so Boat will fit in a standard sized Garage.
The Boat is currently equipped with a Two-Blade Prop. It has a Naguhide Zip-Up Bag, to protect the Prop while traveling on the highway.
The Engine is Extremely well-built. Some extras are: Forged Steel Racing Crankshaft. The Main Journals have been Cross-Drilled for constant Oil flow to the Piston Rods. The Crankshaft is also Clearance Ground and Heat Treated for strength and higher RPM’s. The front Snout on the Crankshaft has been machined to accept a Larger Oversized Keyway for the Blower Pulley Hub.
The Engine is completely Internally Balanced.
It has H-Beam Racing Piston Rods, JE Pistons with Total Seal Gapless Rings, Pete Jackson Gear Drive, Isky Roller Cam, Solid Mechanical Roller Lifters, 7/16” diameter Chromoly Push-Rods, and a lot more.
The Block is a 4-Bolt Main, Bored 60 Over, and it is Line-Bored, Decked and O-Ringed, and sealed with solid Copper Head Gaskets.
The Cylinder Heads are held on by an ARP Stud Kit. The Heads have been machined and they have two extra Head Bolts per Head, to maintain a better seal. It has Stainless Steel Valves, Isky Triple Valve Springs, Chromoly Retainers, Isky Roller Rockers, and Crane Rocker Stud Girdle.
Engine has a 14 Quart Dooley Oil Pan with Baffles and Trap Doors. It also has Dual Remote On-Board Oil Filters.
The Water System is completely custom re-desgined like no other, to keep the entire Engine temperature constant. The Boat runs cooler with this system, and the Engine Temperature can be completely controlled, depending on lake water temperature, etc.
The Exhaust System is equipped with Beautiful Large Chrome Basset Blower Headers, designed to be used with Super-Charged engines. This Boat has a lot of custom extras that took years to develop, and there is a lot more to know about the Engine, the Water system, and Exhaust system. It also includes some accessories, like the 3 Bladed Prop, an O’Brian Knee Board, and a Riding Tube made by Straightline.
